we got a new camera!! maybe we will start posting pictures more often, probably not though. we kinda had a sad easter, the girls were sick so we didn't get to go to church, sad. we didn't even get dressed and out of the house until 3:30. it seems like we can go only once every other week, the girls are sick the other. somehow we managed to get some great pictures. hope you all had a great easter and have a fun spring break!

what if Jesus walked into your church?

I know, everyone uses this scenario to scare the church. i heard these lyrics and thought they were so bitter~

"Cause my Jesus would never be accepted in my church The blood and dirt on His feet would stain the carpet But He reaches for the hurting and despised the proud I think He'd prefer Beale St. to the stained glass crowd "

The devotion for today (by the way, i love these devotions!) was opposite, "if Jesus walked into your church, Does He want to reach out and grab the hands that are raised in worship?" I was really encouraged by this, and the challenge she extended ~

"Take a few moments and close your eyes. In your mind, picture your church sanctuary and Jesus walking in and sitting down next to you before the service starts. Imagine Him saying, "Hello" and wrapping His arms around you. Just enjoy that feeling for a moment."

Jesus is in our church......enjoy the picture of the hurt, sick and lonely sitting with Jesus in our church!

Today at the park Lilliah got into her first playground fight. Two little kids were blocking the slide and my girls wanted to play too. Lilliah was so good, she kept on saying "excuse me" and the little boy told her to go away. After a few minutes of asking please and excuse me I guess the other girl was fed up and decided she should push Lilliah. At this point the mama bear inside me reared up and I wanted to protect Lilliah....but she was on top of it and hit the little girl. At that point it turned into a giant ordeal and everyone was crying and hitting.

My question is this.....how can I teach my children to turn the other cheek when I think the other kid deserved it? I am proud that Lilliah wasn't the first to resort to violence ....actually, I was shocked at her patience, but once the other girl started it...arrgg! Is there a way to turn off the mother bear instinct? And do I have to? Where is the line between turn the other cheek and standing up against bullies?

I tried my hand at creamy chicken and rice soup yesterday....and it was yummy! here is the adapted recipe....

1 1/2 cups chopped celery
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
1 cup carrots
2 cups uncooked brown rice
1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
2 (14 ounce) cans chicken broth
1 1/2 cups water
1 cup margarine
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups chopped, cooked chicken meat (i just baked 4 boneless skinless chicken breats with olive oil, salt and pepper)
6 cups milk, divided
salt and pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS
In a large pot over high heat, combine the celery, onions, and carrots with a bit of olive oil and cook for about 5 min. Add rice, bouillon, broth and water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 30 minutes (it took about 45 min) or until the rice has absorbed most of the liquid. Remove from heat and set aside.

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter or margarine. Slowly add the flour, stirring often, to make a roux. Add 4 cups of milk, 1/2 cup at a time, while constantly stirring. Add this and the chicken to the rice mixture and return the rice mixture to the stovetop over low heat.
If the soup seems too thick, add some or all of the remaining 2 cups of milk. Season with salt and pepper to taste and allow to simmer for at least an hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

i had to add all the milk plus extra broth so next time i'll us half the flour and margerine. But it is delicious! and so nice for a cold day...like today

It's official! Our little girl arrived Tuesday November 25th at 2pm. She weighed in at a whopping 5lbs 11oz and 18.25 inches long. She is perfectly healthy and happy for being so early....a whole month! We have finally arrived at a name for little baby girl fredlund. So here she is.........Daliah Carmichael Fredlund.

Ok Kate, I will attempt to think of 7 random things to share.....so this may take all day, I think every one knows everything about me.

1. I am now terrified of getting bitten by a black widow...which could easily happen since my house is old and completely infested with the horrid things.

2. I have to give my self 4 shots a day to control my bloodsugar when pregnant, I love creeping my grandma and some friends out with it.

3. My husband and I switched church last year after I had attended the pervious church for 27 of my 28 years. A huge step but we love our new church and family (not that we don't love you all at CCAG still, just needed to get out on our own)

4. It took us 10 weeks of knowing the sex of this baby to finally decide on a name....Daliah Carmichael Fredlund! (this must be a record for us because we knew Lilliah and Aidah's names way before the 20w. ultrasound)

5. I have a friend that I love and still see weekly that I have known since I was about a year old....that's almost 29 years.....yikes!

6. I had knee surgery at the age of 7.

7. I have only 7-8 weeks left until my third daughter is born and I am completely obsessed with meeting her......I can't wait!!

ok......so i was thinking the other day....my due date is christmas and that is SO far away! but then i was thinking well, the c-section is scheduled for 12/18 so thats a bit closer. Then i thought, i didn't go past 38 weeks with the girls...and i'm a little over 28 weeks now.....holy cow! this baby will be here in 10 weeks! WHAT!?!?!? oh no, i am so not ready, i don't even have her name picked out yet. We are wavering between Hannah (her nickname would be Hattie), Dahlia, and Olive. It may be one of those but who knows? so to sum up.....i need your prayers! this little one will be here so soon and i've got a million things to do! but i really can't wait to see her!!!

That's right folks, Lilliah has kicked the habbit. No more paci"fier" for her! We made a big deal of throwing her fier to the baby fishes at her birthday party. She's doing really well considering how much she loved that thing and hasn't gone back, what a big girl!

One last suck. I still can't believe I got this shot, if you look close at the bottom right corner, you can actually see the pacifier hitting the water.

She walked all the way back from the pier trying to find her "fier" but it was long gone.

Sunday we had Lilliah's birthday party. It was a much smaller afair than last year but it was fun. The kids are obsessed with pirates lately so we had a treasure hunt (necklaces and coins burried in sand in a kids pool) and desert island cupcakes. So, last night I started cramping and bleeding a little bit. I was totally freaked out and spent most of the night crying and worrying. i had my first dr's appt this morning and they said everything looked good but they got me an ultrasound right away. The baby is ok!! We are 6 weeks 3 days pregnant and the baby's heart beat is 125bpm, a little slow but the ultrasound tech said that was normal....so, praise God baby is ok! What relief!

so, as I'm sure most of y'all know...I'm pregnant again! we've had our first round of tests and everything seems to be going well. I just feel like I can barely handle the two I've got now, how can I handle another one, will three be too many for me? I want this baby with every ounce of my soul, I'm just afraid I won't be good or responsible enough for three. Please pray that I will let God be in control, that I will let Him change me into the mother He wants me to be.

The healing process has begun. My God and Redeemer lives and loves me with a personal fervent love. I think I just had to realize, I have no healing within me, it has to come from the Maker. Today was our first day back at our new church. We've been going about 4 months and haven't really connected with anyone yet, so I'm still a little lonely when I'm there. I had a really hard time during the study, I was to distracted by my sadness, missing my pearl. Anyways, today was communion and as they started worship they played this song that I had never heard. I think it was perfect for me and maybe it will encourage someone else too.....

Our baby would have been born in late June and pearl is the birthstone of June, so I went and bought myself a pearl today. I wasn't sure what I was looking for until I looked in the jewelry case and there it was, small, beautiful and perfectly simple, the way I imagine our little one. I couldn't wait to put it on and it is perfect. Every time is notice it I think of my little pearl, my treasure, stored up in heaven for me.

This necklace is almost the same, mine's just smaller and sweeter.

As I am sure most anyone who reads my blog knows, I had a miscarriage last week. We were completely blindsided by this, I know no one expects it. I don't want to bum anyone out but I also didn't want anyone to feel like they were kept out of "the loop" This has been the hardest week and holiday of our lives. Billy, my family and friends have been wonderful support and all the prayers are felt. A great friend George gave me a bit of perspective on this situation, while I may never know why this happened I can rest assured that my baby is in heaven and can never feel pain, grief or never walk away from Jesus. Also, I read Revelation 21:4 "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." That is where my baby is and some day I will be there too! Please keep us in your prayers, Thank you.

we went to the beach yesterday to try and take christmas pictures of the girls....hahaha has anyone tried to take a 1 and 2 yr old to the beach and said, "sit still"? didn't happen much. these are the few pictures we did get.

It's been a while since I have posted anything, too busy and tired. The reason I'm tired? I'm pregnant again. I'm sure that everyone that will look at this blog already knows that, but it's here in the interest of catching up. So, I have all this time to spend on the computer at work since my job takes a whole of 15 minutes to complete, and I have been looking around and seeing that everyone else keeps their blogs up to date so, I guess I can too. We could use some prayer in regards to Billy's job situation. He is waiting to hear back from the CDC on his background check, and even though we believe that is what God has for us we can see allot of obstacles (that word reminds me of O brother, where art thou?...haha) in the way. Pray for faith (on our part) and favor for Billy. I know God has something for us! Thanks!

my older daughter is lilliah (27 months) and the little one is aidah (13 months). i didn't think i could ever love someone so much. jesus is so good to give me my babies! "so cute, oh, i just want to bite her ear off and use it as a sucking candy" "i could take one of those feet and put it in a pita pocket"
